Arrive, drop into the Marriott and its lounge, and do almost nothing on purpose, the jet-lag fog peaks on day two, not day one. Julian's hard-won advice.

Land Orly. Métro Line 14 straight from the airport (Orly to central Paris ~25 min), change at Bercy to Line 6 for Saint-Jacques, the Marriott's stop. Or a taxi, Orly to the Left Bank is a flat fare (~€35). Not the RER with bags.

Orlybus was retired in 2025; Line 14 replaced it. Reconfirm before departure: any Paris transport strikes. Orly station

Drop bags at the Marriott Rive Gauche near Montparnasse. Into the Executive Lounge for a coffee and a sit.

Gentle walk, Montparnasse to the Jardin du Luxembourg to Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Sit at a café. That's the day.

Arrive in Paris in the afternoon and rest the first day. If you wreck yourself sightseeing straight off the plane you lose two days, not one. The lounge is free with your status, use it for dinner tonight if you want.

The RER from the airport with luggage, stairs everywhere, pickpocket-heavy. Métro Line 14 (change at Bercy for Line 6), or a flat-fare taxi. The old Orlybus no longer runs.
