Morning flight. Le Andra's city.
Fly from Rome · settle at the Marriott · rest, don't sightsee
Arrive, drop into the Marriott and its lounge, and do almost nothing on purpose, the jet-lag fog peaks on day two, not day one. Julian's hard-won advice.
Download before you leave the hotel the Marriott Bonvoy app, signed in, with mobile check-in done for the Rive Gauche (you can start it the night before from Rome). It gives a digital room key so you can go straight up when you land. Details under Apps to download.

Before you leave the door
Arrive in Paris in the afternoon and rest the first day. If you wreck yourself sightseeing straight off the plane you lose two days, not one. The lounge is free with your status, use it for dinner tonight if you want.
JulianThe RER from the airport with luggage, stairs everywhere, pickpocket-heavy. Métro Line 14 (change at Bercy for Line 6), or a flat-fare taxi. The old Orlybus no longer runs.
House pickTransavia cancels or strikes (check the app 48 hrs out): easyJet also flies FCO to Orly, or take Vueling / ITA / Air France to CDG and a flat-fare taxi to the Left Bank; worst case a day-train via Milan (11 hrs).
House pickNothing timed today. That's the plan.

How it went
Written after the day: what you did, what you loved, what you'd skip, the photographs, a voice note or two. It fills in here and in the album.
