Tickets

• TodayTix, Julian’s pick for West End shows. Day-of and day-before seats at a fraction of the box office; also runs Rush (cheap seats released 10am) and a Lottery. London + Paris.
• DICE, Julian’s other one. Gigs, comedy, club nights, one-offs, strong in London, Paris, Barcelona. Resale is face-value only, no scalpers.
• Ticketmaster, the arena shows (Palau Sant Jordi, Accor Arena, The O2). Make an account before you fly.
• See Tickets / AXS / Fever, what Ticketmaster doesn’t have.
• TKTS (Leicester Square) the official same-day half-price booth in London. No app; good for a walk-up call.
• Local: Atrápalo + El Tenedor (Spain), Fnac Spectacles (France), TicketOne (Italy).

“We have three hours, what’s good?”

• Time Out (Barcelona / Rome / Paris / London) “what’s on this week,” curated, not spam. The single best one to have.
• Secret Barcelona / Rome / Paris / London, pop-ups, one-night things, rooftop bars, small exhibitions.
• Fever, experiences sorted by time of day and neighbourhood: gigs, immersive experiences, rooftop bars, observation decks.
• Bandsintown + Songkick, add the artists you like; they ping you if one is playing near you on the trip dates.
• TheFork (El Tenedor / La Fourchette) 20-50% off real restaurants, book an hour ahead.
• GetYourGuide / Tiqets, same-day skip-the-line tickets if a museum or tour suddenly makes sense.
• Citymapper, the transit app that actually works in all four cities (which exit, which carriage, walk vs ride).
• Too Good To Go, bakeries and pâtisseries sell their end-of-day surplus for a few euros. A cheap way to try a place.
• Google Maps, build a “Want to go” list before you leave; the “popular with locals” and “popular times” layers earn their keep on the ground.

Concerts & big shows, what to check

Honest status, checked 26 Aug 2026: none of the artists you named, Bad Bunny, Karol G, Alejandro Sanz, Ricky Martin, Pitbull, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, has a confirmed Barcelona, Rome, Paris or London show between Oct 12 and 30. The big Latin and US tours run Europe May-September; October is mostly domestic pop and rock. (Bad Bunny’s Europe run ends in July; Alejandro Sanz plays Barcelona in June; the Eminem-Snoop “2026 world tour” poster was a debunked fake.)

What is on in the window right now

• Barcelona, The Strokes (Palau Sant Jordi, Oct 20).
• Rome / London, nothing notable confirmed in the trip window yet.
• The calendar keeps filling in. Re-check 2-3 weeks out and again when you land, Bandsintown / Songkick (set your artists), Ticketmaster, DICE, and the venue sites: Palau Sant Jordi & Sant Jordi Club (BCN); Palazzo dello Sport / Atlantico (Rome); Accor Arena, La Défense Arena, Olympia, La Cigale (Paris); The O2, OVO Wembley, Royal Albert Hall, Roundhouse (London).

The London shows (already in the plan)

Locked, in order

• The Lion King, Lyceum Theatre, Tuesday 27 Oct 19:30. The opening “Circle of Life” is why you see this one in a theatre. Booked, Royal Circle N 24/25.
• The Book of Mormon, Prince of Wales Theatre, Wednesday 28 Oct evening. From the South Park creators, nine Tonys. Booked ahead.
• Warner Bros. Studio Tour, The Making of Harry Potter, Leavesden, Thursday 29 Oct daytime. The actual sets: the Great Hall, Diagon Alley, the Hogwarts Express. Train from Euston plus the official shuttle. Sells out weeks ahead, book the moment the dates are set.

Pricing: both shows are now booked and paid. For any third show, TodayTix the day before can still undercut the box office, Julian got 4th-row Lion King for £34 that way. Matinees (Wed, Fri, Sat) run cheaper than a weekend night.

If a spare evening opens up and you want a third: Matilda (Cambridge Theatre) or Operation Mincemeat (Fortune Theatre, a WWII spy comedy, Olivier winner) are the picks, or a play at Shakespeare’s Globe on Bankside (the open-air reconstruction; a daytime tour works too). Not the Hunger Games show, Julian: “the acting sucked.”

If a spare morning opens up: Kensington Gardens and the Diana Memorial Fountain (free), with Kensington Palace right there, or the Harrods Food Halls (free to walk, a sight in themselves). Both are on the London page. Skip the London Eye, long queue, and the free Sky Garden gives you the view.
